     First founded in 1924 as a teacher training college, Chiang Mai Rajabhat University (CMRU) is committed to constantly improving its  capacity for providing the best teaching and research opportunities. Now we are one of the most prestitious higher educational institutions highly recognized in producing qualified teachers and research for community development. We are also considered a most highly recognized resource for arts and culture.

        For over ninety years, CMRU has made tangible progress towards its vision of being a leading university in teacher training and community development. At present, a variety of 80 degree programs are offered. The undergraduate programs include those in education, humanities and social sciences, science and technology, management science, and agricultural technology. The three areas of graduate programs offered are education, languages and community energy environment. 

        As the world has become a global community, the university internationalization is essential. We have established and expanded academic cooperation and collaboration with other international institutions and organizations in both the educational and the business sectors in order to provide students and faculty members opportunities for academic and cultural exchanges.
